Thank you for your interest in our clinics and seminars. We have chosen our topics carefully and hope that you will find something that is of interest to you. Our clinics do not require that you or your horse are at a specific level of training however some basic understanding of the topic is desirable. It is possible to participate in our clinics with one of our school masters. If you wish to participate with your own horse we can offer overnight stabling. We are also happy to help you find a hotel or bed and breakfast close to our facility. Each clinic has theory and practical sessions and only a limited amount of persons can participate. These small groups allow for individual and personalized learning. We therefore request that you reserve your spot early. Clinician

Your clinician, Ralf Schmitzer, has over 25 years of experience teaching and training. He specializes in classical training and circencic groundwork. Ralf has focused exclusively on the classical art of riding and training for the last ten years. He has studied the baroque masters as well as classical masters of the present. Ralf passes on his vast knowledge not only in Germany but also holds regular clinics in USA. He is extremely patient and has a clear, concise way of communicating to both horse and rider. He works with horses of all breeds and does not require a certain level of training of either horse or rider. Ralf feels that it is especially important to pay attention to the well-being and health of the horse. Only training that creates a mentally and physically fit horse can also create harmony between the horse and the rider. Ralf is particularly interested in maintaining the classical art of riding, the airs above the ground, and the work between the pillars as this work is more and more forgotten.

Course offerings

Lunging – Laying the foundation for your horse (2 days)
This course shows how to lunge in a biomechanically correct fashion. The clinic will show you how to correctly lunge with patience and feeling and will also teach some other elements of groundwork. We will pay special attention to your horse’s movement. This course will teach you how to use different pieces of equipment properly and clearly show their effect. Participants will have lots of opportunity to practice. There is no specific background or level of training necessary to participate.
Course is limited to 10 participants. Two horses will be lunged in the arena at the same time, there are also theory sessions.
